IRA RIKLIS
DA BOSS

Chairman, COPS Monitoring

Some bosses sent a couple of guys around to offer protection. Ira had a better idea: take the operation nationwide, stay on duty 24/7, and make sure the customers want the cops called.

He didn’t just change the business. He scaled the protection racket into a legitimate monitoring company.

The Da Boss Files

Two entirely fictional legends from the speakeasy archives.

FILE NO. 001 · ORIGINS

The Rise of Da Boss

Back in the old days, protection was a simple business. A couple of fellas would stop by and explain how unfortunate accidents could sometimes happen.

But Da Boss saw the problem nobody else did. It didn’t scale.

So he went legit. No more knocking on doors to collect. Now he knows the instant somebody knocks on yours.

FILE NO. 002 · STILL UNSOLVED

The Case of Louie the Nose

They called him Louie “The Nose” because the thing entered a room five minutes before he did.

Then Louie disappeared. Weeks later the coppers found his nose. Just the nose. No head. No Louie.

Everyone suspected Da Boss. Nobody ever knew for sure.

Pull up a chair. Everybody eats.
